simple-hearted

Simple-hearted:  having a simple nature, artless (not false), sincere…

Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Simple Thoughts

I consider myself a simple girl, thus the name of this blog, Simple Song of Joy.  Plain and simple, I see the world through eyes that believe. When I was young I was called gullible, always believing what people said at face value, and unfortunately teased unmercifully because of that. I’m a whole lot wiser now, but still, simple at heart.

God, of course, knows this about me, and in today’s reading/study, He led me from 2 Corinthians 4 to Psalms 116…specifically in verses 5-9:

5 The Lord is gracious and righteous;
    our God is full of compassion.

The Lord protects the simplehearted;
    when I was in great need, he saved me.

7 Be at rest once more, O my soul,
    for the Lord has been good to you.

8 For you, O Lord, have delivered my soul from death,
    my eyes from tears,
    my feet from stumbling,

9 that I may walk before the Lord
    in the land of the living.

HA – I’m protected! Have been protected my whole life, for that matter. Despite myself…the fact that I fight fear and worry all the time, doubt and unbelief, having a mind that continually needs correcting to His way of thinking, He still chose me to be his daughter, worthy of saving.

He’s so good and gracious to continually take my messes, my failures and bring something wise and wonderful out of them. Wise? Yes because I’m learning along the way to choose wisely. In plain-jane words:

Light-bulb Carol…you’ve ‘been there-done that’ before, so it might be a good idea to choose a different route. Just say’n.

Oh and did I mention the fact that I’m so very clumsy? Keeping my feet from stumbling too? Well, that’s just icing on the cake. At least this girl can jump!

So long 2013… I’ll be ‘jumping‘ into 2014!

Jump!!
